This is the bare minimum level of IISA membership. To qualify as a student member you need matric or equivalent NQF 4 qualification, plus you have to pass the FSB regulatory exams RE1 and/or RE5.

If you do not hold an IISA recognised qualification, you can join as a STUDENT or GENERAL member.

This entry-level membership is for those who have just entered the market and who are on their path to their first level of qualification for regulatory purposes and would like to enjoy the benefits of being a member.

Student members are those who might not yet have started any insurance study but have completed their regulatory exams.
